there was to be no giant-killing at Edegly Park today as a four-goal man-of-the-match performance from Kyle Wootton led them to a 5-1 victory over Worksop Town.

Stockport made a bright start when Jayden Richardson crossed for Kyle Wooton, who calmly slotted into the centre of the goal. Against the run of play, the Tigers were level when the ball found Jay Rollins, who levelled the scores for Worksop via the top of the bar.

Disaster struck Stockport as Hippolyte sustained an injury that forced him off after 20 minutes. Stockport retook the lead in a replica of their first when Callum Camps crossed for Wootton, who tapped home.

It was almost three for Stockport when Nick Powell had a shot saved by Paul Cooper. Moments later, Jayden Richardson hit a shot out of the ground that was harder to miss. Wooton struck again in the 67th minute when a wayward shot found its way to him, and he struck home for his hat trick.

It was four minutes later when Wooton was found at the back post to head home for his 4th of the game. The five for was complete ten minutes from time when Odin Bailey ran into space and slotted into the bottom left corner.

Worksop fans will head back to Nottinghamshire proud of their side and grateful for the big day out they embarked on while making plenty of noise when they arrived in Stockport until they left.
