Sheffield united dominate Burton who are haunted by presence of former player


Tonight on the 22nd of July Burton played Sheffield united in what turned out to be a good homecoming match for Daniel Jebbison who spent last season on Loan at the Brewers.


The Blades were almost in on the 3rd minute when a pass was played short luckily for the home side Ben Garret came out just before Jebbison could capitalise.


United came again when Ismaila Coulibaly smacked the post when positioned near the penalty spot.


Another chance went begging for the visitors when Rhys Norrington-Davies flashed in a cross that was too high for the players crowded in the box.


The deadlock was almost broken in the 21st minute when a cross was put in for Jebbison who should have done better when he side footed just wide of the near post.


Burton had there first chance of the game in the 27th minute when Jordan Amissah had to be alert when Davis Keillor- Dunn’s free kick was curling into the top corner only for Amissah to tip it wide of his goal.


The deadlock was broken when Jebbison went untouched on a marauding run,

rounded the keeper and slotted into the net to haunt the home team.


Sheffield united almost doubled the lead when a cross was swung into Coulibaly who volleyed his shot at Garratt who pulled off a save that kept his team in the game.


The lead for the visitors was doubled in the 40th minute when recent u19 European championship winner Jebbison was unleashed 1 on 1 with the Keeper and made it look easy as he slotted into the far bottom corner to send his team into the half time break 2-0 up.


Burton started the second half the stronger and almost got on the score board when Joe Riley flashed a shot just wide of the post.


Sheffield united burst back to life when Trialist put in a cross that was diverted for a corner with the resulting corner coming to nothing.


Moments later the blades came agonisingly close again when Garratt tipped a shot by trialist onto the top of the net.


Jebbison almost scored a 60 minute hat trick only for his shot to be saved low down by Garratt.


Sheffield united scored there 3rd when the ball came out to former premiership player Enda Stevens who unleashed a rocket that evaded everyone and settled into the bottom left corner.


Burtons first chance of note in the second half was a Keillor-Dunn free kick that flew harmlessly over the bar.


Sheffield united again came close three quarters into the game when Oli Norwood aimed for the far top corner only for it to lack curl and fly wide leaving the final score 3-0 Sheffield united.
