Hashtag united academy goes down a storm

Today the 8th of may hashtag united continued onto the next big stage in there hunt for a new player


This was done by a traditional 11 a side game with 45 minutes each half. This was a big test for the remaining players as it was the first time in the process that they had played a full 90 minute game. By the end of the day the players would be whittled down from 30 to 15


The 2 teams consisted only of potential new players. The 2 teams were the Orange and black team.


The game started with both teams giving there all Orange team had a chance on the 7th minute when Chaka Barnett was fed in but his shot went wide


Black team had a chance in the 11th minute when Mulligan shot close to the keeper


Again orange came within a whisker of taking the lead when Eddy Coopers inswinging ball was inches away from Reese Antoine Da costas head


Antoine da Costa came close again when he found the gloves of the keeper from a tight angle


Mulligan came within inches for the black team when his shot narrowly cleared the bar


In the 23rd minute Matthew Aldridge had a shot that sailed over the bar


Again orange had another shot saved by the keeper when Chaka Barnet’s close range shot was gathered in by the keeper


Black team eventually took the lead when Jake Lindsay cross turned shot sailed in via the far post


Chaka Barnett blew a chance for the orange team when he was slipped in but he was denied by the oppositions goalkeeper


Black team almost doubled there lead when Sam Blackholly slipped in Leon sterling who’s shot was saved


Black team doubled there lead with an audacious near half way shot by Jack Hockney that delicately dropped into the net


Orange clawed one back when Tomasz Siemienczuc collected a long ball and comfortably slotted home from outside the box


Joel Older almost scored when his shot was charged down by the keeper


The half time score was 2-1 black team


The orange team almost drew level when Reece Antoine da Costa’s shot was saved by the keeper


Orange eventually did level when a free kick was tipped into the path of Reece Antoine Dacosta who slotted the rebound home


Black team retained there lead when a cross was flicked on to Joel Older to volley home


Black team came agonisingly close to extending there lead when ovingtons header sailed wide


They eventually made it 4 in the 74th minute when a cross was slotted home by Joel Older


Joel Older scored again when he slotted in off the far post


Chucks moneke pulled a goal back with a long range shot


Orange had a chance to pull it back late on when a handball gifted them a penalty. Reece Antoine dacosta had it saved.


They did score when Mathew Woodbridge nodded home a cross


Benny made it 6-4 when slotting home
