Stratford and long Eaton play out thriller

Today the 2nd of October Stratford town and Long Eaton United played out an entertaining game that ended with 5 goals being scored

Long Eaton had the better start to the game when 9 minutes in long throw specialist Kieron Walker slotted in at the far post after a scramble in the box.

Stratford drew level on the quarter hour mark when a cross found former Port Vale player Enoch Andoh who slotted home unmarked in front of goal.

Stratford took the lead just after half an hour when captain Will Grocott was fed a ball through 1 on 1 with only the keeper, Sam Wilson, to beat.

There lead did not last long though when 5 minutes after a trademark throw was put into the box by Walker and was headed into the net by long term Long Eaton player Kam Campbell.

The rest of the game was played with no chances of note until 7 minutes from time when substitute Will Dawes played a cross across the box for Lewis Wilson to write himself into the history books and put the hosts 3-2 ahead.

The result means that this is the furthest that Stratford have ever progressed in the emirates FA cup.
