Stratford make good name for themselves against 4 leagues above Shrewsbury
Today the 7th of November was the biggest game in the 80 year history of Stratford Town when they welcomed league 1 Shrewsbury town, who were led by Steve Cotterill.
The bards made a great start to the game when in the 10th minute former Aston Villa youngster Will Grocott smashed the ball into the back of the net to send all 2800 fans in attendance into dreamland.
Shrewsbury came close after the quarter hour mark when George Nurse was fed the ball only for him to blaze the ball over the net.
Shrewsbury did draw level when former Exeter player Ryan Bowman got onto the end of a cross and headed unmarked into a empty net.
Stratford had a chance to retake the lead when Janaii Gordon floated a cross over only for it to go all the way out for a goal kick.
Shrewsbury had there chance to take the lead when Daniel Udoh shot goal wards only for the almost certain goal to be blocked by a defender In orange.
At the start of the 2nd half Stratford faltered allowing their Shropshire opposition to run away with the tie.
The goal fest started when a cross was steered to the far post allowing 2 goal hero Ryan Bowman to tap home
The 3rd came on the hour mark when league 1 veteran Jack Leahy released a rocket of a shot that flew into the back of the net.
5 minutes later the 4th came when a free kick on the edge of the box was dispatched into the corner by Jamaican Elliot Bennett.
Just as the board went up to indicate 7 minutes additional time Tom Bloxham fed onto a pass from a teammate and slotted into the far post
