Chasetown capitalise on 2nd slipping up by winning at relegation threatened Wisbech town via Jack Langston hat trick
Today the 16th of April Chasetown traveled to Wisbech and left with 3 points while 2nd placed Halesowen drew 2-2 pushing the scholars into 2nd 3 points behind leaders Ilkeston
Chasetown started the better side and came close 16 minutes in when Ben Lund crossed the ball to captain Daniel o’callaghan who headed down but narrowly wide.
Wisbech were given a wake up call in the 22nd minute when Lund played another cross, this time to Jack Langston who’s thunderous shot caused the keeper to tip over.
Chasetown made there dominance count when Jordan Evans played the ball through to Langston who expertly flicked the ball past Pearson.
Langston unleashed another rocket 5 minutes before half-time which forced Pearson to take action by tipping the effort over the crossbar.
Ten minutes into the second half the scholars came close when a effort was cleared off the line into the face of Luke cox only for the effort to trickle wide.
The lead was almost doubled when Joey Butlin was released one on one with the keeper only for the effort to be smashed wide.
Langston doubled his and the scholars tally for the day when Harry Cunningham rounded the keeper and unselfishly played the ball to the number 8 who smashed the ball past the defender and into the net to give Chasetown a 2-0 lead.
Langston completed his hat trick when Dilano Reid played the ball to Joshua Mansell who’s cross found its way to Langston who climbed above the rest and powered his header home.
Just before the final whistle Reid drove himself into space and arrowed the ball into the net to make the final score 4-0 Chasetown.
